October 23 Update

Brandon has made the decision to go into hospice care at home as of today. His health is clearly not improving, and making the trips to KU Cancer Center for treatments that are not making him feel better takes every ounce of energy he has. He just wants to be with his family and be comfortable.

Please continue to keep him in your prayers for peace of mind and comfort as he goes forward. None of us can begin to imagine how it feels to have to make this decision at 37 years old. All we can do is love him and support him.

    • Brandon, even though we’re been around most of your life, we never knew you more than just that “young kid” your folks had! We have shared a lot of good times with your Mom & Dad over those years at the Lake where the “Rat Pack” seemed to gather every weekend. But having visited with you at your wedding reception and reading a lot of the posts this last year, we have truly missed out on knowing you better! You are a very nice young man, with courage and a wonderful attitude thru all of this! But why not, your folks are the very same! And you and your lovely bride have given them such a precious gift…….Avery is helping keeping you all together and living proof of the wonderful life you’ve had!

Our prayers are with you all and we’re hoping for a 2-out rally!!!

God bless you and your family.

  1. I thought you were one of the bravest people I had ever known when you made the decision to fight this disease, and I still think you are one of the bravest people I have ever known by choosing to spend your last days with your family. I will pray for peace of mind and comfort, and I want to thank you for allowing me to call you my friend.

  2. Brandon, rest easy my friend, I will continue my prayers for you and the family. You have touched us all with your bravery and humor. I’m still praying for a miracle! Love you so much!

  3. Brandon, rest easy my friend. You have touched us all with your bravery and humor. We love you dearly, and I will continue praying for you and your family.

  5. B, I’m so overcome with emotion…it’s hard to find the words, but I just want to say thank you, I came to Teva almost 5 years ago, just looking for a fresh start, you never know who you are gonna come across at a new job, but you was the coolest team lead, funny and always made everyone feel comfortable, cracking jokes, and your just a good person, happy, and it was always pleasant with you around, I am so thankful to know you, and I love you, when my father died, even though you were already going through so much, you stopped by, checked on me and gave me a hug, and asked if there was anything you could do to let you know…and that meant a great deal to me, it just shows what a wonderful person you are, and I just wish this wasn’t happening. Brandon your story isn’t supposed to be ending…not now, not like this. I know God has got you B, and I will always be praying for your girls and you. Be with your family, let them love and continue to take good care of you.
Sending all my love and hugs.

You have & continue to achieve much to be proud of. We are blessed to know you. Hearts are wounded collectively and in unity. Your smile is contagious that brings happiness to many. May you have a good strong day today.

  16. Brando, My prayer each day is for Peace and Comfort for you , your Beautiful Family, and ALL your friends.

  17. Brandon I am overcome with emotions. You are truly missed, your smile, your kind words and those red sneakers. Stay strong you have inspired many.
May God continue to bless you and your family, you are in my prayers.

  18. Brandon I remember when I came to Teva and you were the Interim QAs during launch. You would rush around answering some of the craziest questions and you did it with a smile and took your time with people. You were always there to run ideas by and pick your brain about things. I never had anything negative to say about you – except your college football team selections, lol. You have touched so many lives in just being the amazing person you are. I wish you and your family the best.

  19. We pray for you every day. We hope you get to rest at home and be surrounded by all your loved ones. You have such a wonderful and beautiful family. We are here for you guys.

  20. I have had cancer, and I hate the word, 4 times. Once, it was a stage 4 and was given 6 months to live. That was over 30 years ago. Cancer has nothing on the power of our living God. I am praying for you. I am praying for healing. God answers prayers, and you have so many pulling for you. You have a beautiful family, so matter how badly the disease may have you feeling day to day, look around you and realize just how incredibly lucky you are. If you need anything, and I do not just say it lightly, all you need do is ask. You are my brother in Christ, and family looks out for family. God speed, and may God continue to pour out his blessings and love for you and your family.

  21. Heartbroken doesn’t begin to describe how I feel for you & your family. I’m so angry, too. So, so angry. I support you & your family & will always stand behind the decisions you are making that no one your age should ever have to make. I hope hospice can offer you comfort & the ability to be comfortable & present with your family. Your fundraiser reconnected a lot of us & I hope was a visual reminder of how many of us love you (not to mention everyone who was there in spirit if not in person).

  22. Brandon, my heart breaks for your family and your wife and children. God will keep you and he will keep them. I wish you rest and peace in the coming days and I’ll always smile when I think of you. Your legacy will live on through your kids.

  23. Brandon – We are so proud of you and the fight you have fought. We are praying for you all. May you feel the peace that comes from God. We specifically prayed for you and your family last evening at church. Love you!

  24. Love you Bub take it easy just wanted let you know that working with you was one of the funniest times, looking forward to coming to work, because there was never a dull moment with Brando made the day go that much faster? not to mention the awesome friend I gained for life. My prayers are with you always Brando

  25. I just came across this and it saddens my heart. I had no idea what you have been going through. I’ll always remember the fun times we had at BRB singing all the classics that came on the radio while working the front desk. You were a good friend and so undeserving of any of this. I pray that God will grant you and your family strength, peace, and comfort.

  26. B.
Please know that I am so blessed to know you. I too have been through the hospice with my 31 yo daughter.
Please know that I am available to you and your family.

  27. Eight years ago we started on the same day at Teva. I thought to myself who is this bright, funny, energetic, positive guy? Some girl must be so lucky to have him. Sure enough you found Kristin and have had so many blessings since you’ve been together. Surely this is the toughest road you have traveled. But I want you to know that we love you and support you during this time. All my love to you Brandon big smushy lovey hugs and prayers for you and your family. xoxoxo
