Post op update.

Brandon finished the HIPEC procedure around 1:30 this afternoon. We were able to talk to the surgeon an hour later, and he said, “At the end of the day, in terms of the surgical part of getting it all out, he had a very nice operation.” He’s sent the cells and tissues he removed to pathology, and we should know more on that next week as far as what our next steps will be after he recovers from surgery. In the meantime, we’ve been able to visit Brandon in his ICU room, where he will be for the next couple of days. He’s groggy but looks good and is talking to us. We will  continue to update during his ICU stay. Keep the thoughts, prayers, positive vibes coming! We’ve crossed one more bridge on the road to recovery!

  10. So glad to see that Brandon is progressing well after surgery. I have been in your exact same situation twice at KU Med with immediate family members and I know how grueling and mind boggling all of the medical information can be. The nurses and staff have always been wonderful and create an atmosphere for healing. I can’t say the cafeteria food is too great though…take care and Godspeed to your family.
